In the midst of family difficulties, loneliness, and doubts about the road ahead, Joseph found in God, music, and his school a firm purpose to keep going. His story is one of a young man who chose not to give up—and today stands as an example of faith, resilience, and vision for the future.
Currently in his final year of high school at Conviventia’s God is Love School in Altos de Cazuca, Joseph wants to leave behind a legacy of his life story to inspire and motivate the next generation.
Marked by Faith and Art
Joseph’s eyes light up when he speaks about his passion for the arts—playing the piano and guitar, singing, and worshiping God. He serves faithfully in his church, but his journey there was anything but easy.
“Although I faced difficulties in my life, especially within my family, my mom never stopped instructing me in the Word of God—and that’s what kept drawing me closer to Him.”
From a young age, Joseph experienced deep family pain: the separation of his parents, a brother’s battle with addiction, his sister leaving home early, and the silent tears of his mother, who never gave up.
“I saw my mom cry every night, remembering she no longer had two of her children at home. That was hard for me… but thanks to God, my mom and I have been able to overcome it.”
A School That Transforms
Joseph’s arrival at the God is Love School was pivotal. There, he found not just education, but spiritual guidance, emotional support, and a community that inspired him to persevere.
“This school is unique because of its worldview and values. Many schools can be excellent academically, but they lack purpose. Here, the values we learn have allowed our lives to change direction.”
It was in this school, during one of the most difficult times of his life, that J had a real encounter with God—one that changed everything.
“It was that first encounter with God, when He told me to lay all my burdens on Him… From then on, I’ve only fallen more in love with Him and sought Him more.”
Music, Purpose, and a Vision for the Future
For Joseph, music is more than a hobby—it’s a refuge. When he plays the piano, he feels peace, purpose, and God’s presence.
“When I play, the doubts and problems fade away… that is my tranquility.”
Through the school’s Bible-based educational model, Joseph has built a clear life plan:
“It’s helped me become a better person… to know what I’m going to do with my life. I see a man who preaches, who builds a business, who is financially stable, and who serves God. That is who I want to be.”
A Message to Other Young People
Joseph is eager to encourage other youth to seek God above all else.
“Video games, fleeting pleasures… all that fades away. But God remains forever—as a friend, as a father. Seek Him and you will see your life completely transformed.”
With a firm smile and a grateful heart, Joseph concludes:
“I’m very happy in this school because I’ve learned the Word of God and how to apply it to my life. I thank the sponsors who believe in young people and plant seeds in our hearts. I invite you to keep being the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth.”
Joseph’s life is a testimony that faith, education, and the love of God can transform any story.
