“On June 24, our lives changed in seconds. I was riding toward Catia La Mar with my brother when the earth began to move with such force that we fell from the motorcycle. In the middle of the street, I dropped to my knees and cried out to God. My thoughts immediately turned to my daughters and parents. I ran the three blocks home, praying that I would find them alive.
Finding my oldest daughter safe and praying with our family brought immense relief, but our lives have not returned to normal.
Our home was severely damaged and marked with a red evacuation notice. We are no longer allowed to live there. The ground beneath our block continues to shift, and every aftershock brings the fear back. So many families have lost their homes, churches have collapsed, and our community is carrying deep emotional pain and uncertainty.

Yet we have not been alone. Pastors, churches, neighbors, and volunteers have remained beside us. Community kitchens are feeding children and families, and support from Venezuela and abroad reminds us that hope remains.
Our most urgent need is relocation to safe housing. The humanitarian assistance, food, and care we receive are a blessing. This support reminds us that hope is still possible.
