Strategic Short-Term Assistance
with Long-Term Results

Families and communities suffering from health crises, food shortages, and similar situations often need compassionate support. However, we know that poorly executed humanitarian aid strategies can lead to long-term dependence and can ultimately become harmful to already vulnerable communities. At Conviventia, our goal isn't to deliver a few care packages and disappear. Our goal is to see communities grow, become more resilient, and withstand even the most difficult of circumstances without having to rely on external assistance.

Health Brigades

Several times every year we form special teams consisting of volunteer medical professionals, Conviventia staff members, and others to offer critical care to communities experiencing intense and urgent healthcare needs. Our brigades work in coordination with local governments and Ministry of Health representatives to provide care in areas such as basic health, nutrition, dentistry, optometry, nursing, pharmacy, legal assistance, counseling, and more.

School Health Plan:
Forming Healthy Habits

Our School Health Plan is focused primarily on helping students develop healthy habits for long-term self-care. It also plays an essential role in ensuring that students are safe and healthy at school, equipping them to enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

School Health Plan:
Nutritional Reinforcement

The nutritional reinforcement component of our School Health Plan provides food to children who have been identified as underweight or otherwise suffering from nutritional deficits. It also offers practical nutritional guidance for parents who do not have a sufficient understanding of healthy eating practices.

A New Beginning in La Guajira: How Compassion Alleviates
Suffering and Need

In loving memory of a servant and obedient soldier of Christ. Our dear friend, Victor.

In the remote region of Comejenes, in La Guajira, Colombia, access to basic medical care and equipment is often out of reach—especially for families living in extreme vulnerability. For Arleni, a devoted mother and her adult son, Abelardo, this reality made daily life incredibly difficult. This young man had been relying on a deteriorated wheelchair that caused him pain and severely limited his mobility. Even the simplest daily tasks became overwhelming.

That changed when Conviventia, together with a compassionate team of volunteer doctors, local churches, and community leaders, arrived through a medical brigade and humanitarian aid effort. Thanks to this initiative, Abelardo received a brand-new wheelchair—one that brought immediate comfort and dignity. But the support didn't stop there. He was also given the specialized medical attention and essential medications he urgently needed.

"As a mother, this is a great relief," she shares. "His mood has improved, and our lives feel lighter. I thank God for Conviventia and everyone who made this possible."

This story is just one example of how medical missions and compassion ministry can bring healing mobility, and renewed hope to families in forgotten corners of Colombia.
