Christian Education that
Transforms Communities

Children with access to quality education are immensely more likely to succeed as adults than children who don’t have that opportunity. In Colombia, children living in impoverished communities are rarely afforded the opportunity to receive the kind of education they really need.

For more than thirty years, Conviventia has worked to protect and educate children in Colombia. We provide all our students with a quality, accredited education that addresses their physical, spiritual, cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Conviventia operates four primary and secondary schools in Colombia: two near Bogotá––in Lucero Alto and Altos de Cazuca, one in Barranquilla, and one in Cartagena. We also support seven schools in La Guajira, one in Soacha, and eleven in Bogotá through our School Accompaniment and Teacher Training program.

Avanza: Education for
Students with Special Needs

At Conviventia, we believe every child should have the potential to thrive. That’s why we’ve developed Avanza, our strategic approach for the prevention, early identification, and intervention for students with potential learning differences or challenges. This initiative provides targeted support to ensure that students receive the help they need early on to succeed throughout their educational journey.

School Accompaniment and Teacher Training

Through our School Accompaniment program, we collaborate closely with local schools and educators, in addition to the schools we operate to provide both direct support to students and resources for their teachers. Our goal is to create an environment where every child has the chance to succeed academically, regardless of their challenges. This collaboration helps us identify and address barriers to education and empowers both students and educators to overcome them.

Higher Education Scholarship Fund

In 2024, 97% of graduates from Conviventia’s schools went on to post-secondary education such as universities and technical training institutions. We do everything we can to support our students while they are attending our schools and as they pursue further educational opportunities. These opportunities have led us to create a special scholarship fund designed to help students succeed.

Success Story: Meet Luis Saltarin

“My name is Luis. I’m 22 years old, and I graduated from the God Is Love School in Barranquilla in 2018. Growing up without my mother and without support from my father was difficult, but God never left me alone. During my time at school, I was a dedicated student and discovered my passion for track and field. At first, I was frustrated because I wanted to play soccer, but over time, I came to understand that God had a greater purpose for me.

Today, I am a national track and field champion. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and the United States, proudly representing Colombia in the South American Games and winning gold medals. None of this would have been possible without Conviventia and the God Is Love School. It was there that I found a family, strong Christian values, and the support I needed to move forward. Thanks to their education programs and scholarship support, I was able to earn a degree in Physical Education and Sports. Now I want to impact lives the same way they impacted mine.”
